Your initial open enrollment for Medicare Advantage plans is the three months prior to turning 65, the month of your birthday, and the three months after turning 65.
You must be enrolled in Part A and Part B of Medicare if you want to purchase a MedAdvantage plan or a Medicare Supplement plan.
It is also important to have prescription drug coverage.
If you don’t have prescription drug coverage and then need to purchase it later, you will have to pay a late enrollment penalty that will permanently increase your premium.
