A B C's of Health Insurance
We are starting a new series that will briefly define a variety of terms you might hear when insurance is being discussed. Today we will start at the beginning - with A!
A is for Apple Health.
Expanded Medicaid has been in the news a lot as the Republicans tried (unsuccessfully) to vote on the American Health Care Act (AHCA) to replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
Apple Health is the name for the Washington State expanded Medicaid program. Individuals and families that make less than 138% of the Federal Poverty Level may be eligible for free health care through Apple Health. In addition, children have a higher threshold for qualifying. A family may have split eligibility where the children qualify for Apple Health and the parents receive tax credits to help pay for their Qualified Health Plan.
Apple Health accepts enrollments year round at WAHealthPlanFinder.org.
